![]() ![]() John P. Wyciskala is a partner in the law firm of Stern & Kilcullen, and practices in its Real Estate Practice Group. He concentrates in the areas of real estate development, land use, environmental law and eminent domain.
Mr. Wyciskala earned his J.D. from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in 1992, earning a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. He earned his undergraduate B.A. degree from Rutgers University in 1989.
Prior to joining the firm of Stern & Kilcullen, Mr. Wyciskala was an associate and then partner with the Land Use and Environmental Law Practice Group of the law firm of Brach Eichler, which merged with the law firm of Wolf Block Schorr & Solis-Cohen, L.P. in 2003.
Mr. Wyciskala has represented major residential and commercial developers, commercial shopping center owners, supermarket chains, hospitals and a variety of other landowners on development and litigation matters. He regularly assists property owners and developer clients to navigate New Jersey's complex land development approval processes, appearing regularly before Municipal, County and State land development agencies, including governing bodies, planning boards, zoning boards and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
Mr. Wyciskala's focus in recent years has been in the area of redevelopment of distressed properties in accordance with the New Jersey Local Redevelopment and Housing Law. In this regard, Mr. Wyciskala counsels clients on all matters of redevelopment, including brownfield remediation, land use and zoning, regulatory law, transactional law, eminent domain, and litigation.
Over his career, Mr. Wyciskala has achieved a strong reputation in regulatory compliance matters and litigation relating to solid and hazardous waste management, wetlands permitting and regulation, storm water management, real estate transactions, toxic torts, Federal and State air and water pollution control laws, ISRA, CAFRA and the New Jersey Highlands laws and regulations.
Mr. Wyciskala was admitted to the New Jersey Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1992. He is an active member of the Environmental and Land Use Sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
