Stephen M. Plotnick is a partner of Stern & Kilcullen LLC, and a member of the firm's Litigation Department. Mr. Plotnick has a multi-state litigation practice, with a focus on business, financial, and commercial litigation, as well as trust and estate and fiduciary litigation. Mr. Plotnick regularly represents and counsels financial services industry and investment firms, issuers, closely held corporations, executives, securities and investment professionals, and fiduciaries in connection with a wide variety of civil litigation matters, regulatory inquiries, and criminal fraud matters. Mr. Plotnick's broad base of experience includes contractual and fraud-based claims, business torts, shareholder disputes, CDO and other structured finance litigation, mortgage repurchase litigation, complex and class action litigation, closely held corporate and oppressed minority shareholder disputes, employment disputes and incentive compensation litigation, director and officer liability, raiding and unfair competition, securities disputes, account-related claims, trust and estate litigation, and fiduciary issues.
In addition to his experience before a number of federal and state courts, Mr. Plotnick frequently handles matters subject to alternative dispute resolution, including arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association, the International Center for Dispute Resolution, and FINRA.
Prior to joining Stern & Kilcullen, Mr. Plotnick served as the law clerk to the Honorable Martin L. Greenberg, Presiding Judge, Chancery Division, Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson County, General Equity Part.
